I have compaq presario 7598 with a BMW m/board, Part No-157126-101 and
Spare No-170686-101. I want to upgrade the processor which is at the
moment Pentinum 3 600/100Mhz. What's the maximum processor can I put
on it?

Your processor works through a Socket 370 design, also known as
PGA370.  The processor has a 100mhz bus.  Your motherboard should be
able to go up to a 1.33 ghz processor.  The only challenge is finding
one of these as they are becoming increasingly rare.  Try eBay.
