Hi n2film,
WhenToWork won the Gold Award presented by Top Ten Reviews so you
could use that program with confidence. Unfortunately,
ScheduleAnywhere wasn't tested, so we don't know how it would've
measured up to the rest in the field.

What to Look for in Employee Scheduling Software

To compare WhenToWork to ScheduleAnywhere, I've put an X next to
WhenToWork features that ScheduleAnywhere also has. If there is no X,
ScheduleAnywhere doesn't mention it on their website (it doesn't
necessarily mean their software doesn't support the feature). If I put
a ?, it means I think ScheduleAnywhere will do it, but I'm not
positive.

WhenToWork Product Details
http://employee-scheduling-software-review.toptenreviews.com/whentowork-software.html
If it were me and $70 per month was not an issue, I would go with
WhenToWork. However, ScheduleAnywhere looks comparable and it wouldn't
hurt to try the 30-day free trial. If you do, confirm that you will
be warned of scheduling conflicts. In regards to "which company
appears to be most stable?", I would have to say WhenToWork based
mainly on the Gold Award (assuming Top Ten Reviews assesses a company
before reviewing their product).
It's been interesting research, I hope that I've been able to help
make an informed decision. If you have any questions, please post a
clarification request and wait for me to respond before closing/rating
my answer.
Thank you,
hummer
