My unemployment benefits recently ran out with the California EDD. I
am single, rent, and have no children. I have not had any luck in
locating a job and wanted to know what other governmental (or other)
resources might be available to assist me financially until I find a
job. I've been told there is general relief (welfare), however, I've
also been told to qualify for this one must have children and must not
own a car. What other financial assistance programs are there and
how can I determine if I qualify for them?
