Bryan,
The pressures of GA just became too much for me, I had to escape to
the wonderful countryside of Dartmoor and Southern Devon. I didn?t
fill out the official holiday request form as I intended doing a John
Stonehouse off Devon beach. That, however, never worked because my
wheelchair became stuck in the sand and the coastguard had to call out
a local farmer and his tractor to pull me out.
As for sending a postcard. I?m afraid Donald McGill type postcards are
not very PC now and I couldn?t find a decent card to send you.
However, through the power of the internet I have now found a suitable
one with a GA question theme.

What I did enjoy was good weather and wonderful scenery. Plus a visit
to some interesting National Trust properties. Here?s a selection of
links as to what I got up to:
Dartmoor National Park - famous for open moorland, wild ponies,
getting lost in the bad weather, a prison, and sphagnum moss.

Dartmouth - harbour views, picturesque houses, and good seafood.

Coleton Fishacre - Arts and Crafts house which belonged to the D'Oyly
Carte family. Snuggled in a quite valley with wonderful views of the
sea.

Buckland Abbey - Francis Drake?s House. Didn?t hear his drum banging,
so I assume England?s not in danger.

Buckfast Abbey - Benedictine Monastry. Bought home a jar of honey
which I am now having for my breakfast.

The holiday was soon forgotten when I got home and saw the size of my work in-box.
Thanks for asking.
