Dear Solbear007,

I believe the Australian Mining Company you're referring to is Mineralogy Pty.

CITIC Pacific, a Chinese Chinese Government-owned company signs deal
with Australian Company Mineralogy for iron ore.

?A Western Australian resources company says it is set to indirectly
gain from a multi-billion dollar deal which will see mining rights to
up to six billion tonnes of Pilbara iron ore sold to a Chinese
Government-owned company.
Earlier this week, Citic Pacific announced it will buy the rights from
Queensland-based company Mineralogy for billions of dollars.?

ABC News Online: April 6, 2006

-------------------------------------------------------

?Mineralogy, headed up by Queensland business identity Clive Palmer,
signed the deal with Hong Kong's CITIC Pacific Ltd - a Chinese
state-backed infrastructure company.

CITIC will invest up to $US2.47 billion ($A3.46 billion) in developing
two mines based on the deposit located near the mouth of the Fortescue
River.
It has a $US100 million ($A139.89 million) option to then develop
another four projects.

Mineralogy's Mr Palmer said this was one of the biggest iron ore deals
ever signed in Australia's history.?

-------------------------------------------------------

?Hong Kong-based CITIC Pacific, a Chinese government-backed holding
company, has agreed to buy into a major Western Australia iron ore
project in a deal potentially worth more than 1.2 billion US dollars,
reports say. The agreement involves the Fortescue magnetite and iron
project owned by privately-held firm Mineralogy in the Pilbara
region.?
