Am searching for Phoebe Howard born in Elizabethtown, Ont in 1802/3.
She married a _________ Hallock in 1821/22. Would like to find out
which Hallock son she married. Her parents were Stephen and Mary also
of Elizabethtown. Her family were Loyalists and in 1822 she applied
for a land grant under her married name. I have researched my Hallock
lineage but have been unable to find this link.
Rev. William A. and Catherine (DeGroat) Hallock are my
ggg/grandparents. I believe she married one of their sons. They were
married in 1794 in NY and moved to Elizabethtown in 1800. The first
child mentioned is Catherine born in 1804. It seems highly unlikely
that no children were born in the ten year span between their marriage
and birth of Catherine. In the 1805 Elizabethtown census. Three
children show up that were not previously mentioned Staats
(Catherine's father's name) James and a Rebecca. Perhaps Catherine
was married before she married the Rev. Would like to know name of
Hallock, Phoebe married. If possible. Thank you. Bev (Hallock)

Visit the genealogy website www.rootsweb.com, click on the MESSAGE
BOARDS section, then in the box "FIND A MESSAGE BOARD" enter the
search term "Grenville Leeds" (which is the area that covers
Elizabethtown Township), and you will see a message board link come up
described as "BOARDS--LOCALITIES--NORTH
AMERICA--CANADA--ONTARIO--GRENVILLE LEEDS", and you can post your
query there (after you log in to the site and get your own password),
where you can get the assistance of an amateur or professional
genealogist in the local area who has access to records that could
probably help you get your question answered.

SINCERELY,
