Where can I purchase fresh kaimito AKA caimito AKA star apple from the Philippines near New York City? If not in NYC, anyplace in the US, east of the Missippi will do as a second choice. I realize that kaimito is probably not in season right now. I think it's season is January-March in the Philippines. (No, I'm not looking for star fruit) |

I see this thing in the larger local grocery stores near DC. It's availability is indeed limited; I'd suggest talking to a nouvelle cuisine joint. Barring that, find a Balto. produce co. named "Keaney" and they'll know how to order it. I've done business with them- they're very good for exotics, but they won't deliver very far. |

Can you tell me which grocery stores in DC you've seen it in? Recently? Can you tell me more about "Keaney"? I was unable to find it with a quick google search. |
