The average gross margin on new textbooks in college bookstores is 22.53% (http://www.nacs.org/public/research/margins.asp). Do online book retailers (such as Amazon and Barnes and Noble) average the same gross margin on the new books they sell (please isolate textbook sales if possible; if not, overall gross margin will do)? If not, how does their gross margin compare (If used books margin is also available, please list, however new books? margins are the main objective)? |
