Industry stats ? I need some statistics on companies who sell general
college industry merchandise (online or wholesale). Such industries
might include: stationary (e.g. notebooks, pens, planners, etc.),
electronics (e.g. calculators, desktops, notebooks), campus-branded
apparel (such as sweatshirts depicting the university?s initials).
Basically the major items above and beyond tuition, food, and
textbooks that a college student will spend his money on. The
aforementioned are just examples; any stats on any college specific
merchandise company/industry (or even within an industry e.g.
electronics: average $$ spent on calculators by college students) will
do, and the more college specific industries, the better. The
statistics I need are: respective industry worth, average gross margin
by retailers on such merchandise items, and the average amount each
college student spends on such items (excluding textbooks and food).
Please note whether these statistics include textbooks and food or
not.
