I'm trying to find a site that'll tell me when my parents have their birthdays for any given year. They're Korean and celebrate their birthdays on a different day every year. For example, my mom was born on 2-28-1951. This year, her birthday celebration would be on ??? |

Howdy jasony79-ga, Thanks for accepting this as the answer to your question. The traditional Korean calendar is lunar based, and this Wikipedia entry tells us it is the same as used in traditional Chinese applications. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_calendar "The Chinese calendar ... is a lunisolar calendar incorporating elements of a lunar calendar with those of a solar calendar. ... Other traditional East Asian calendars are similar to if not identical to the Chinese calendar: the Korean calendar is identical ..." The "Asia Home" website has a "Chinese Birthday Date" calculator. http://www.est-direct.com/china/cncaps.php If we put in your example birthday of February 28, 1951, the calculator yields a Monday, February 20, 2006 birthday. If you need any clarification, please feel free to ask. Search strategy: Google search on: lunar calendar birthday ://www.google.com/search?q=lunar+calendar+birthday Looking Forward, denco-ga - Google Answers Researcher |
