Hi I would like to put a What Am I Reading section in the right column on my blog. The book I am reading and maybe last 5 books I read with a small picture. I started my blog 3 days ago, and I am using Movable Type 3.2, but have almost zero experience. Please do write what kind of plugin will I have to download, how to install it, what kind of tags I have to write, and where exactly. Like a step-by-step explanation for a layman. Especially about this tag business! There is a lot of information on the internet and I spend 2 nights reading and trying. Tried these plugins: MTAmazon, BookQueue... but couldn't make it work. I suppose I install them correctly but don't know exactly how to write the proper tags. http://www.majordojo.com/projects/MTAmazon/ http://jacob.hesch.cc/software/mt-plugins/BookQueue/ |

I've never used Movable Type 3.2, myself, but if you have administrator access to the blog (as in, it's your personal account), then there should be help files that will explain how to add such plugins. You may need FTP access to the server. You may not. Depends on the software. The Movable Type Knoledge Base might help you out, though. The Knoledge Base can be found here: http://www.sixapart.com/movabletype/kb/ If that doesn't help you, Movable Type also has a "Help Ticket" system, where you can submit a question that isn't answered in the Knoledge Base. This can be found here: http://www.sixapart.com/movabletype/docs/3.2/12_getting_help/help_ticket_system.html Hope this helps you. |

If you might be interested in getting a bit more detailed about your reading list, perhaps a general link on your blog to www.reader2.com would cover it? It's a free site where you can get very detailed about your reading list; current reads, past reads, and reads to be. You can also share reading lists and get other's opinions on a book before you read it. |
