Question ID: 719984
On 6/25/1943 a B17 flying fortress was shot down over NW Germany at 9:10 AM.
Aboard was S/Sgt. Howard H Brinkman who bailed out and became a POW. Upon War's
end he returned to Lima ,Ohio. To the best of my knowledge it was 579
S. Metcalf St.
Question: is he still alive; if so, can any one provide me with his
address and or phone no.

27east-ga,

Google Answers policy prevents us from posting contact information on
private individuals.

However, have you looked in an online phonebook for Lima, OH?

A search for [ Howard Brinkman ] in Lima at a site like Superpages:

http://find.person.superpages.com/

might just turn up the results you're seeking.

Let me know if this gets you the information you're seeking.

P.S. The comment below mentions the Social Security Death Index, but
I checked this as well, and I really don't think any of the Brinkman's
listed are the one you're looking for.

Again, try Superpages, and you should be pleased with the results, I think.

Dear 27east-ga;

Thank you for allowing me to answer your interesting question.
Normally, I too would refrain from addressing questions about the
location of private citizens as it is our policy to do so, however, as
it turns out Howard H. Brinkman is somewhat of a public figure in
Lima, Ohio, as opposed to private citizens who are entitled to a
certain degree of privacy. In fact, Mr. Brinkman has his name and
contact information published on multiple local Elks Lodge sites as a
Past President, Secretary, and long active standing Board Member. All
these publications are intended for unrestricted public consumption
and openly list his contact information at the invitation for anyone
to use.

Mr. Brinkman appears to be alive and well in Lima Ohio and currently
serving as the 2005-2006 Secretary of the Lima Elks Lodge # 54:

LIMA ELKS, OH, LODGE NO. 54
http://web-ster.net/OhioElks/54/officers.html

Mr. Brinkman himself appears to be the Webmaster or host of an Elk
Lodge site and has also made his (email) contact information available
for public use at the bottom of the page, presumably with the
expectation that members of the public will indeed contact him:

BENEVOLENT AND PROTECTIVE ORDER OF THE ELKS
http://www.elks.org/lodges/home.cfm?LodgeNumber=54
http://www.elks.org/lodges/LodgeDirectory.cfm?LodgeNumber=54

2005 OFFICERS AND EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

I hope you find that my answer exceeds your expectations. If you have
any questions about my research please post a clarification request
prior to rating the answer. Otherwise I welcome your rating and your
final comments and I look forward to working with you again in the
near future. Thank you for bringing your question to us.

I checked Social Security's death index, and it doesn't seem that
anyone of that name that would have been the age of an airman has
died, but maybe I have underestimated his age. You can check,
yourself:
http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi

His middle intial might not have been listed with the SS, but still
there are only 8 persons listed.
