Well I have a Sony erricson z500a, I bought a data cable. I installed
the modem driver and sync software. I can move files from my phone
but, I can not dial from the laptop. When I dial it saids modem
already in use or not configured correctly. I really need to have I
can't figure out what is wrong, I played with the settings on the
phone and that didn't work. This should work, everything is done right
and I tried reinstalling things. By the way I have Centennial
Wireless, which is a very small cell company. Someone please help me
with this I will need it for trips soon.

Thanks

Howdy jakestah-ga,

Please try the following:

1. Open Phone and Modem Options in Control Panel.
2. On the Modems tab, click the modem that you want to configure, then click
Properties.
3. On the Modem tab, select the Wait for dial tone before dialing check box.

There is no option to wait for dial tone before dialing it is greyed out.

The phone will show that it is dialing the number but it seems that it
hangs up after one second of showing that

I tried to dial a number to test if it will dial a regular number
throught the computer, I used the hyper terminal from the accesories
to dial my house number, the phone dialed it for a second and then
stopped and the computer said, "no answer"
