There were 4.2 million managers in the UK. 1.4 million women and 2.8 million men.
Autumn 2004
Managers and senior officials 14.9%
Women 10.8 %
Men 18.5%

This site also gives a breakdown for how many women managers there are
at each level and percentage of women managers by function group.

Employees by occupation 2003.
In 2003, men were twice as likely as women to be managers and senior
officials. Of those in work 10% of women were managers and 19% of men
were managers.
