"Currently, MySQL UTF8 support does not include four-byte sequences."

This is from MySQL's documentation.  They only support 1, 2, and 3-byte sequences.

Any ideas on what languages require 4 through 6 byte UTF-8 sequences?

The four byte scheme GB18030 is the registered Internet name for the
official character set of the People's Republic of China (PRC).
