Question ID: 720119
I would like to know how many eastern Canadians from the four Atlantic
Canadian provinces of Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince
Edward Island and New Brunswick moved to western Canada. There is a
growing emmigration of easterners seeking work opportunities in
various industries- especially those connected to the oil industry.

By 'western Canada' I mean the provinces of Saskatchewan, Alberta,
British Columbia and the territories of Yukon and Northwest
Territories.

My preferred answer would show the numbers in total by province of
departure and would include a province by province breakdown.

The period of information I seek is from 2000 to the present.

Thank you.

Hello bobbie7

Very nice to see you too. I love your work!

This is very good information and I especially like the Prince Edward Island:

http://www.gov.pe.ca/photos/original/pop_report_2005.pdf

It has everything I need for P.E.I. I wonder if there are equivalent
free reports from the 3 other Atlantic Canadian provinces?

Best regards

Brudenell

Dear Brudenell,

I did look for free reports for the other three Atlantic provinces;
however I did not find anything.

The information provided in the Prince Edward Island report was perfect.
In any case, I'll resume my search and hopefully I'll discover
something similar for you.

Sincerley,
Bobbie7

Hello again Bobbie7

I wonder if the person who compiled the data on P.E.I. has access to
information from his counterparts in the other 3 provinces?

Brudenell,

I failed to include the total number of INTER-PROVINCIAL MIGRANTS for
each of the Atlantic Canadian Provinces.

Province Total Number of Inter-provincial Out-Migrants
Newfoundland & Labrador 11,882
Prince Edward Island 3,197
Nova Scotia 16,724
New Brunswick 12,597

What do you think?

Good morning Bobbie7

Thank you for your list.

Yes the report has the format of information that I seek except, as I
read it, the period of the report is from July 1, 2004 and June 30th
2005. My goal is to have similar information from year 2000 (to the
end of June 2005 would be satisfactory).

Best...

Wow Bobbie7 you have done it again! Do you mind a quick question? The
2005 Saskatchewan Annual Population Report has the ideal chart on page
2. Do you know if Sask. has the same reports for years 2000 - 2004?

Thank you
