Although I am not 100% sure this is right for your exact processor (since I don't have the exact model number of your laptop), I think you most likely have a 478-pin Intel processor which will use the 478-pin micro PGA (mPGA478B) socket. I am saying this because I think your laptop probally uses the Intel 865pe chipset. Also, since you have a 2.8 GHz chip it is most likely a Pentium 4 Processors with 800 MHz FSB since the ones with 400/533 at that speed do not support Hyper Threading (except for one model that has 1MB on-die L2 cache but I don't that is likely in your case). Assuming you have an Intel Pentium 4 Processors with 800 MHz FSB in the 478-pin package running at 2.8GHz (most likeley the 2.80C but it may be possible you have the 2.80E) then you can use a multitude of motherboards. If you know what you are doing then you should be able to extract the CPU from the laptop and drop it in any ATX 478-pin motherboard that can use an 800 MHz FSB (you may also want to go with the 865PE chipset). The following is a guide to disassemble the P25: http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/ToshibaP25/SatelliteP25_1.htm :) |
