I am helping in the revision of a book and many of the facts used are
out of date. Most of these were current in 1994-1995 so if we could
get the most current information for the new edition that would be
fantastic.

1. According to USA Today, as many as 96 percent of adults ages 25?44
are ?very interested? in owning their own business.

Hello taylorc-ga,

I could not locate an exact duplication of the statistics you?re
trying to update but I?ve found lots of survey results showing the
level of interest in entrepreneurship by various age groups. Some of
these should meet your needs for making the point about interest in
starting or owning your own business.

All the best.

YAHOO! POLL SHOWS MAJORITY OF AMERICAN ADULTS HAVE ENTREPRENEURIAL
ASPIRATIONS AND THE INTERNET HAS MADE LAUNCHING A SMALL BUSINESS
EASIER

Sunnyvale, CA -- April 20, 2005 -- Three in four American adults (72
percent) have considered starting their own businesses and a similar
percentage (75 percent) said the Internet has made it easier to launch
a small business, according to a new survey commissioned by Yahoo!
Small Business and conducted by Harris InteractiveŽ. In addition,
nearly half of those who have considered starting a business but
haven't yet (47 percent) said they would "never be too old" to do so.

The nationwide survey of more than 2,200 U.S. adults is being released
in advance of National Small Business Week, April 25-29. The survey,
conducted earlier this month, measured sentiment among the general
population about aspirations for owning a small business and the role
of the Internet in enabling the start up of small businesses.
