Hello, I'm looking for machine based translation services to cobrand with a webmail service to enable at least some rough form of cross language comprehension and exchange of e-mails where it would have been ignored. I would like to, for example, be able to promote the machine translation service by clearly making their brand visible through this webmail service, and allow users to click a button to translate the incoming message to one of the listed languages and be able to reply in their own language and have a rough translation sent back also showing clearly which technology was used. Ideally, I wouldn't want to pay for the cooperation between the two services, but if they have reasonable commercial services, I would be interested. Translation languages need to cover the normal popular western languages, though include Asian languages as well, including Arabic and Hebrew. If there are services which lack some features or languages, but have unique attractions to compansate, I would like to know about them as well. Thank you. /Lizardnation | |

Hi! Thanks for being with us again. Let us start with something powerful in the industry like Systran. Systran powers the language translation services of popular search engines like Altavista, AOL and Google. I think among their products SystranLinks Gold will be more appropriate to your needs although it is not for free. Systran Links Gold http://www.systransoft.com/eServices/SL/Gold.html Other SystranLinks Versions http://w4.systranlinks.com/ Overview of Systran eServices http://www.systransoft.com/eServices/ Contact Information for Systran http://www.systransoft.com/Contact/ -------------- Next stop is SDL Desktop Products. It has a website called FreeTranslation.com. Maybe this is some sort of a way for you to try their services. I think their Transcend Software will be applicable to your requirements. Transcend http://www.sdlintl.com/transcend http://www.sdlintl.com/products/transcend/transcend-overview.htm (Overview of Transcend Software) http://www.sdlintl.com/products/transcend/transcend-product-info.htm (Product Info) http://www.sdlintl.com/products/transcend/products-pricing.htm (Pricing: A little bit cheaper than Systran) SDL Contact Info: Asian Product Sales - Tel: +81-3-5720-2591 European Product Sales - Tel: +44 1628 416320 North American Product Sales - Tel: +1 847 492 1670 Email: productsales@sdlintl.com ----------------------- Surprisingly one of the human translation services I mentioned in my previous answer, WordLingo is also very much in the web based machine translation service market. Its Email Translation Solutions and Commercial Email Translator software could be of great help. WordLingo: Email Translation Solutions http://www.worldlingo.com/products_services/email_solutions.html WordLingo: Commercial Email Translator http://www.worldlingo.com/products_services/commercial_email_translator.html http://www.worldlingo.com/products_services/cet_features.html (software features) http://www.worldlingo.com/products_services/cet_faq.html (FAQ) The WordLingo Text Box Translator could also be worth looking into but I think this should just be an add-on service to your clients. http://www.worldlingo.com/products_services/textbox_translator.html WordLingo: Contact Information http://www.worldlingo.com/company_information/contact.html ---------- PROMT Translation Technology has an Internet Translation Server and boasts of the following: PROMT Internet Translation Server (PITS) is a powerful enterprise translation solution for intranets, extranets and the Internet. It enables fast on-the-fly translation of corporate sites, incoming and outgoing e-mail, databases, online conferences, and other language data generated by application servers. PITS serves a number of international portals: Voila (www.voila.fr), Lycos (www.lycos.es, www.lycos.de, www.lycos.ru), Caramail (www.caramail.com), InfiniT (www.infinit.com), RBC (www.rbc.ru), etc. PROMT Internet Translation Server http://www.allvirtualware.com/languages/translation_promt.htm ---------- A possible competitor on the horizon for you is T-Mail. T-Mail http://www.t-mail.com/index2.shtml This review from PC Magazine about online translation services could be of value to your research. Site Finder: Online Translation http://www.pcmag.co.uk/PCM/sitefinder3.jsp I hope that I have again provided the service that you required. Thanks for visiting us again and as always if you have a question or would need more information please do not hesitate to ask for a clarification. Regards, Easterangel-ga |
