Where(or in which book) can I find the charts that John Cage used in his work "music of changes"? These charts includes a sound chart, a duration chart and a dynamic chart. I want the compelete charts not just excerpts. | |

Dear ucihj-ga, Thank you for answering my clarification request (sorry about the lack of email notification but there seems to be a problem with that at the moment.) The charts are housed at the Getty Research Institute among the David Tudor Papers. The source for this is: The Cambridge Companion to John Cage (Cambridge Companions to Music) by David Nicholls, p203 ?The charts and working materials for the Music of Changes are located in the David Tudor Papers now housed at the Getty Research Institute?. There are some abstracts of the charts in the book. Use the amazon search inside feature to view them. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0521789680/104-7561151-5358306?v=glance&n=283155 The direct link to the collection is below. http://www.getty.edu/research/conducting_research/finding_aids/tudor2.html Another way of accessing this page is on the below link. If this link has timed out, use the catalogue search further below. http://library.getty.edu/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?v1=14&ti=1,14&Search%5FArg=GETG%20David%20AND%20GETG%20Tudor%20AND%20GETG%20Papers&Search%5FCode=CMD&CNT=25&PID=18144&SEQ=20060424003529&SID=1 To search the catalogue. Search: David Tudor Papers. It will be item 14. http://library.getty.edu/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?DB=local&PAGE=First I hope this answers your question. If it does not, or the answer is unclear, then please ask for clarification of this research before rating the answer. I shall respond to the clarification request as soon as I receive it. Thank you answerfinder |
