Several years ago I saw a list of unusual words and definitions. Included was a word that represented the act of walking through the maze set up to manage a queue (such as at an amusement park) to get from point A to point B, even though there are no people in the queue. I thought it was interesting that there was a word for that, but I've never been able to remember what it was and it has nagged me ever since. What is the word? |

You need to look in queuing theory - I did a quick check but can't do indepth research for this question so all I know are some equations with symbols for what you are referring to. Good luck. |

Thanks! I looked into queuing theory briefly. Very interesting, but it seems to apply more to communications and/or computing. I'm not sure if the word I'm looking for applies to queuing in this general sense or only to queuing by people. |
