I found the following figures:

The number of travel agents in the United States.
The number of Travel agencies (establishments) in the U.S.
The number of paid employees in these establishments.

The number of tour operators (establishments) in the U.S. 
The number of paid employees in these establishments.

The number of other travel arrangement and reservation service
establishments in the U.S.
The number of paid employees in these establishments.

If you are interested in the partial information that I was able to
locate, you could lower the price of your question accordingly.

Reporting Corp. (ARC) data gave an accurate account of the travel
agent market. However, as travel agencies become less reliant on
selling airline tickets, ARC-accreditation no longer reveals a true
picture of market size. The market can be divided into ARC and non-ARC
sellers of travel. As of December 2005, there were 19,871
ARC-authorized retail agency locations. The actual number of non-ARC
sellers, including home-based agents, is extremely difficult to
quantify. No industry standard is in effect, thus making it impossible
to accurately portray the size of this portion of the travel agent
market.?
