Dear Jason,
I'm pleased my findings are satisfactory.
The number of travel agents in the United States.
?Travel agents held about 103,000 jobs in 2004 and are found in every
part of the country. More than 3 out of 5 agents worked for travel
agencies. Around 14 percent were self-employed.?

How many travel agencies are there in the United States?
?This is a difficult question to answer. At one time, the Airlines
Reporting Corp. (ARC) data gave an accurate account of the travel
agent market. However, as travel agencies become less reliant on
selling airline tickets, ARC-accreditation no longer reveals a true
picture of market size. The market can be divided into ARC and non-ARC
sellers of travel. As of December 2005, there were 19,871
ARC-authorized retail agency locations. The actual number of non-ARC
sellers, including home-based agents, is extremely difficult to
quantify. No industry standard is in effect, thus making it impossible
to accurately portray the size of this portion of the travel agent
market.?
