i have never seen a hippo judith leiber bag, but she makes all
different kind of animals so I would imagine she has made a hippo.  i
do own a judith leiber hippo belt.  i bought it around 6 years ago at
saks fifth avenue.  thank you for helping.

I gather you like hippos! Well, unfortunately, according to email
correspondence with I.W. Marks in Houston, which specializes in Leiber
handbags, there is no such animal (if you'll pardon the expression).
They checked with Leiber's main office to be certain. Here is Marks'

I also looked to see if I could find you a hippo handbag by another
designer, but there was none to be found on the Internet.
