I would like to find the date upon which the Porter Building in San
Jose was demolished. It was located on the southeast corner of Second
and Santa Clara Sts, and was most likely demolished in the spring of
1965 because there was a San Jose City demolition permit dated
February 15, 1965 The Porter Building is not to be confused with
another building named the Porter-somethingorother, hyphenated. That
building was located on First St in San Jose. The Porter Building was
built in the late 1800s. If possible I would also like some general
information about it, especially its old elevator. If possible I would
like to find that date of an article in the San Jose Mercury newspaper
about the demolition.
