With a water well drilling rig? I assume you would hire a contractor to drill the well for you. Depending on the geology, they would either use rotary or hammer drill techniques. |

This site may give you some idea of the possibilities. http://www.wn.org/wnstore/PDFs/WNIA/5-1.pdf I also discovered this one, that seems to indicated that you may need approval: http://www.elaw.org/resources/text.asp?id=2846 This site is not from your district, but it suggests that the Ground Water Department is there to offer technical assistance: http://malappuram.nic.in/gw.html Good luck. |

I would also be rather careful - bore holes dug in India have produced water saturated with minerals, I think it was Aluminium, and they were literally poisonous - quite a scandal, but to be fair, nobody thought of testing the water for the un-obvious Recently, on the radio, I heard about somebody having a well dug in Nigeria, it was entirely manual and done by two guys in about three weeks. This is going to sound odd, but about 20 years ago a Belgian company wanted a bore hole drilled in the UK, they sent over a farmer for the day (he did not like to leave his cows over-night) he wandered around with his stick, told them where to drill and to what depth - and returned to his farm. To the delight of the locals, and to the disgust of London consvervationists, there is a medium sized production plant in the midst of an area of natural beauty. Basically, what I am saying is :- 1) Check out the quality of the neighbours wells - it might be poison 2) Check out local well diggers |
