Looking for a general estimate of what the cost is to import a car (celica gt-four)into the USA (most likely from japan). new to the concept of doing this and a playfield price would be nice to add into my total cost estimate. |

Here's a FAQ on importing in general: http://www.foreignborn.com/visas_imm/entering_us/7importingyourcar.htm#dutiable Your car will be taxed. And you will have to pay shipping fees. For VERY specific steps check this out: http://www.epoi.com/faq.html |

Be careful - the Japs drive on the left - like the UK, Aus etc - so anything you import will be an 'export model' There was a question here a few weeks ago about Jap car exporters - can't find it |

Frde makes a very good point. Buying a left-hand drive car in Japan will probably cost more than the standard model there. It seems very unlikely that you could arrange shipment and taxes/customs and deal with the documentation and getting the car approved for US specs more cheaply than Toyoto does. |
