Looking for a general estimate of what the cost is to import a car
(celica gt-four)into the USA (most likely from japan). new to the
concept of doing this and a playfield price would be nice to add into
my total cost estimate.

Your car will be taxed.  And you will have to pay shipping fees.

Be careful - the Japs drive on the left - like the UK, Aus etc
- so anything you import will be an 'export model'

There was a question here a few weeks ago about Jap car exporters
- can't find it

Frde makes a very good point.  Buying a left-hand drive car in Japan
will probably cost more than the standard model there.  It seems very
unlikely that you could arrange shipment and taxes/customs and deal
with the documentation and getting the car approved for US specs more
cheaply than Toyoto does.
