Take half the pill, and put the remaining 1/2 inside an empty gelatin capsule:

Take them at the same time. The one in the gelatin capsule will take
longer to hit your system.

Some vitamin pills contain vegetable gums which slow the digestive process.

This sounds like a very bad idea to me. What if you screw it up? If
you OD in the middle of the night while you're sleeping, you might not
wake up (ever) or display any noticable symptoms. See a doctor.

Also be aware that some tablets are designed to be absorbed from the
stomach. If yuo make these into a slow release version then they will
pass through to your small intestine before they are released, but
without the acidic conditions of th estomach to properly activate the
product. This then results in malabsorbtion.
