Where can I find an apple DVD-video Audio/Video perch card for my
beige G3 minitower mac and what price is it?  I may pay more for this
question if answered.  I am a student and therefore VERY POOR.

G3's (Refurbished)" be what you're looking for? Or is the DVD card
something else entirely?

Yes, it is called the Audio/Video perch card, but, it should also say
DVD somewhere in the title of the card, and yes I am looking for
second hand working or cheep new.  THanks again to everyones continued
help, it is much appreciated.

You will need a DVD drive too of course, I can't remember if the
internals are all SCSI, the floppy is SCSI I think, so you 'might'
need an internal SCSI DVD drive. Perch card = PCI card? ATi might do
one, as they have a close collaboration with Apple and are more likely
to have drivers for Macs. ATi also have a focus on multimedia type
cards with hardware DVD playback. Though you will probably need to be
at least OS 8 and preferably OS 9 and above. (just my assumptions)

It came with an IDE DVD drive (shipped from apple).  the beige G3 has
2 IDE busses, 1 Onboard SCSI, 1 PCI SCSI controller card (using for
4Gb SCSI HD)  2 more PCI slots, 1 PERCH or Personality slot (used by
A/V Cards or the card I am looking for)

hmmm.. that's strange.. your beige G3 MiniTower came with a DVD drive?
Must have been a later model just before the blue and white G3's.

Your mention of 'personality slot' jogged my memory, one of those
Apple proprietory slots like the old 'communications' slot on my old
LC 630.

*scratches head* ... sorry I draw a blank for the time being, but will
post something if I find it. I take it you are prepared to purchase a
second user / hand card, you are presumably based in the States?
