In your opinion, what are the 5 weaknesses you see on our website?
That is, if it were your company, what 5 things would you change to
get more sales from
the site? Our website is www.magnets.com The company is a US company
but is run by my brother and myself, who are both Australian. We
understand that there are a lot of similarities with both countries,
but also some differences. We need an opinion from someone who has
lived in the USA all their life.

michael...

- Browser compatibility:

The first thing is that the site's appearance in Mozilla/Firefox
is not as good as it is in IE. On the homepage, this shows up as
a misplacement of the phrase, [Call for more information or to
place an order.], and a foreshortening of the phrase, [Business
card magnets are 2" x 3.5"] to [Business card magnets are 2"].

The submenu of Pricing, [Pricing Guarantee], enlarges and becomes
malformed in Firefox/Mozilla.

The final phrase on this page, [Either way, you win!], is cut off
in Mozilla/Firefox:
http://www.magnets.com/pricing/guarantee/

Since Firefox is becoming increasingly popular, this is not good.

- Typos/phrasing:

In the US, the phrase, [receive an obligation free price] would
be more commonly stated, [receive a no-obligation quote (or
estimate)], on the home page.

Lack of a space, here....|...in Step 1 of this page:
[ordered at same quantity(in multiples of 1,000, in quantities
up to 10,000)]
http://www.magnets.com/pricing/guarantee/

Commas missing in this phrase following [How do I pay for my
orders?]: [We accept: Visa, MasterCard, American Express.
Personal Checks. Business Checks. Cashiers Checks. Money Orders.
PayPal System (no period at the end). Periods mark missing commas.

- Miscellaneous

The links for [Color - Layouts - Sizes] on this page don't
underline when you mouse over them, as they do on the main
page, leaving the user thinking they won't work if clicked
on. They do work, and are underlined when clicked on, but
not on mouseover, as they should be.

On the Vision page, you state:
[Magnets.com is a proud member of the http://www.bbbonline.org/]
If so, I would suggest putting the BBB membership/approval logo
on your front page. Lots of people look for this.

Site map page is "no longer available":

Toll-free numbers on some pages don't match the main one at the
top of the page: 877-546-5356 vs (866) 229-8237. That's okay if
they're separate numbers for separate functions. I'm just making
sure there's not one main toll-free number which hasn't been
updated on some pages. The 877 number shows up on this page:
http://www.magnets.com/about/faq/

That's about all I could find. Otherwise, the site is quite
well done. It's very appealing and I believe the text to be
very convincing to potential customers.

I for one, just dont like Flashing or scrolling on my sites,
especially with commerce or storefront site. I love how your contact
informations is quickly and easily accesible, 800 number on the front
page and a clearly defined contact tab. There are some spelling
mistakes such as "If you would like to supply finished artwork but you
dont have one of the accepted formats:" Just my $.02

One weakness is that you do not offer different thickness magnets and
the fact that your business card size magnet is not actually business
card size.
