Hi there, I'd like to be able to record, with no loss of signal or quality, something I play on my computer. From what some people have told me, if you try and record something normally (ie. windows sound recorder) it (my sound card) still actually converts it to analog first and then back to digital (which results in quality loss). I would like to know how to record, in stereo, and in the exactly original quality, something I play through my computer. I'd prefer the resulting file to be a wav file. So my question to you is: how do I do this? What free program can I use to do this? Thank you! Justin |

You can use Audiograbber software to do what you are looking to do. http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/ I've used it in the past and the quality is pretty good. Also, it's pretty simple to use and it creates wav files. |

Hey Justin, Thanks for the question! I was asking myself the same question a few days ago when I wanted to record some songs from Winamp. This little program is all I need. It records anything that is beeing played on your computer straight from digital. It's not recording from the speakers, but from the aplication that plays it (i.e Winamp). The program is Open Source so it's even better that you don't need to buy or (cough) crack it... Here is the link to it: http://streamripper.sourceforge.net Download the one for your platform and enjoy it. It's great! |
