I am looking for statistics on private equity specifically in Boston and perhaps New York as well, specifically how much total capital is available, % of total capital available vs. the rest of the country, % of deals completed by Boston / NY-based firms vs. rest of the country, etc. Basically, I'm looking to see how Boston (and New York) stacks up against the rest of the U.S. in terms of private equity activity. Thanks. |

Private equity ACTIVITY could be something different from private equity CAPITAL based in Boston and NY. Old money may sit around with few deals, new money - also from outside the area - may be involved in many deals transacted in the cities. And perhaps a definition of PRIVATE is significant: funds held by individuals and trusts for individuals, or also funds held by non-public entities, such as Harvard's endowment fund. Perhaps you can clarify. |
