Hi, I'm looking for ways in which nuclear fusion and fission reactions have affected life on earth. All I can think of at the moment is nuclear energy and the sun's energy , but are there any more examples? Thanks |

This doesn't really answer the original question. The question was about the consequences of nuclear fission/fusion, not ambient background radioactivity. |

Hello qed "The question was about... " are there any more examples? Kindly note the 'question mark at the end of the sentence. let's the juvenile speak for himself, OK? I hope s/he will rate my answer. |

As a free agent I will comment as I see it. As I see it, background radiation of the sort you've cited doesn't constitute an example of the effects of nuclear fission or fusion. And, being a paid Google contractor, you are in a position of some accountability. You are being paid legal tender for your services. You will be subject to public criticism. That's the way it is in a free civilization. |

Hedgie, I'm afraid qed100 was right. Specifically, I'm looking for ways in which nuclear fusion and nuclear fission have affected life on earth. For instance, it is common knowledge that the sun undergoes nuclear fusion and it's one of the examples I have found. Obviously, the sun has directly affected life on Earth. Additionally, we have nuclear weapons (which involve controlled nuclear reactions) and have affected life on Earth in the way we live, deal with other nations as well as the environmental effects the detonation of such bombs has had on Earth. Therefore, I'm seeking other examples, like the sun and nuclear weapons, which present an impact on our life on Earth thanks to nuclear fusion and fission. Not necessarily technology. |

qed100-ga I have no problem with you commenting. Feel free. My comment was not trying to stop you. It was about the the the subject 'what the question is'; dear juvenile404-ga The examples I gave you are manifestation of fission and of fusion. Sun is not the only star in the universe, not ony place were fusion affecting us takes place. Anyway, I have asked my answer to be removed. Not because it is wrong. It is not. Rather, because I do not feel that you are interested in explanation. |
