Hummer-ga. time ran out before you had the results about the Samuel
May publication info. If you have the information now, I would like
to hear from you and also reimburse you as per the original price.

Hi Wendellphillips,

We tried our best but didn't have much luck. I posted a comment on
your previous question after it expired:

"I received the answer to my query from Harvard today. The librarian
said she looked in cost books for 1869, and 1867-69, and 1867-1870
without success, spending as much time on it as was permitted."

I think your best bet would be to go the Houghton Library and search
the cost books yourself, especially considering that the librarian's
wording suggests that more time could've been spent on the search.

I'm sorry, both myself and a colleaque really tried to track this down
for you but we came up short. I think I've already given you the most
relevant information that we found, I wish we could help more.

Good luck - if you ever crack this one, please let us know!
