I'm looking for the name of the band and song from the 80's. Everyday
after school, I would watch this music video show called CMC the
california music channel with it's host Rick Kurkjian. I loved that he
played british pop videos. I remember seeing one in particular. All I
can remember is the band wore white sweatshirts with big letters on
the front. They were in a studio that was all white and they were
singing and playing around to the music. In one scene a guy was riding
a bike(in the studio) and then crashed into some stuff. The song
sounded kindo of like the housemartins and the smiths.

Anyway that's all I have. Does anyone remember seeing this video?

Hello woohoo1-ga,

The two bands that immediately spring to mind when you mention white
sweatshirts with big letters on the front are Wham! and Frankie Goes
To Hollywood.

During the Wake Me Up Before You Go Go video, Wham! wore t-shirts with
"Choose Life" and "Go Go" on them. The video can be seen here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0n7Aiic3AgM&search=Wham

"...a memorable video of the duo, plus the ubiquitous Pepsi and
Shirlie, wearing Katharine Hamnett T-shirts with the slogans CHOOSE
LIFE and GO GO. These became essential fashion items as Hamnett wrote
herself into pop culture, having simultaneously designed the FRANKIE
SAY T-shirts for Frankie Goes To Hollywood."

The video for Relax by Frankie Goes To Hollywood (the era in which
they wore the infamous t-shirts) is perhaps best not linked to here
due to its adult themes (but can be found on youtube.com also).

I'm not sure any of this matches the latter part of the question but
it might help jog other researchers memory.

Let me know, via a clarification to this, whether this resolves the
question or whether you can recall anything else about the video.

Woohoo1,
I barely remember that video you said of the bike in the background
crashing into something... though I have forgotten the title and the
artist. However I'm familiar with the bands you mentioned, and the
artist of this video is most likely in the same class (britpop, new
wave, etc.). I'm guessing Madness or the Cure, or any other bad that
used a lot of funny videos then. By the way, did the bike crash happen
humorously? The tone of that event might help, so one doesn't mistake
other bike crashes for the same one.

Thanks for all the responses. The host played alot of popular stuff,
but every now and then he would play some more obscure videos. I
remember seeing Ultravox, Belouis some, Level 42, Echo and the
bunnymen, etc.

As to the tone of the video, it looked low-budget, kind of like let's
just rent a studio with some props and shoot a video.

I can't remember any of the lyrics.
