My dog walked over the keyboard kicking out two keys and all the fancy hinges underneath. First, does anyone know how (details or photos would be most beneficial) to replace the keys? Second, the Llllllllllllllll key (see) gets stuck now each time its pressed. How can i fix it? Chris M |

This isn't really an answer. Having worked on laptops for a number of years, I can tell you that, in my experience, the best way to re-attach a key correctly is to carefully pop off another key cap and examine how the supports are aligned with the base of the keyboard. An experienced laptop technician would be able to accomplish this task fairly quickly, you might want to try calling small computer shops in your area and asking if they will do it for you. Basically most laptop keyboards have three barts two small plastic 'loop-like' parts and then the key cap. Fitting the loop-like parts together is the hardest part. There is, however, only one correct way to do it. Which, of course, means if you do it wrong it won't work right. Install the loop like parts into the base of the keyboard first, and then attach the key cap. Alternately you can purchase a replacement keyboard. Hope that helps. |
