Question ID: 724265
I want to buy a projector for my downstairs "entertainment room" I
dont have a ton of money...prob thinking of getting it on ebay. I
want the best projector for my money....obviously. I am thinking also
of making a screen.

What is the best projector for the buck? (under $500) (will only be
projecting a 6foot screen)
(also taking into effect the bulb replacement cost)

Can i make a screen out of canvas...or is there a better thing?

Well, I must ask: If you can't afford to spend much on the projector,
then how will you be able to afford movies on film? (Film prints are,
and always have been, outrageously expensive.) Why not get a modern
LCD projector and buy all you movies on digital media?

I don't know why qed100 thinks you're going to be using a film projector...

A bulb for a digital projector will likely run you $200-$400.
http://tinyurl.com/rpuea for a pricelist of projectors < $1000
The cheapest of these (around $749 list) has a lamp life of 4000
hours, with a bulb cost of $400.

Yep, a bulb will cost you almost your entire budget. Depending on
usage, you could expect between 2 and 4 years of bulb life. Maybe
longer.
