Why does room temperature coffee seem cold but room temperature water seem warm?

b/c the mind expect the coffee to be hotter than room temperature and
the water to be colder than room temperature. It's just your mind
playing a trick on you.

If you always drank your coffee at below room temperature then you
would find the coffee to be warm instead of cold.
