Bobby Sands, the Irish Hunger striker who died in May 1981, married
Geraldine Noade and had a son named Gerard 9 (born May 8, 1973). What
happened to Geraldine and Gerard Sands? Geraldine stopped seeing
Bobby while he was imprisoned and I cannot find any information about
what happened to her or their son after this or Bobby's death.

Hi caitlin2me,

I have found a newspaper article about an event at which Geraldine
Sands spoke, twenty years after Bobby Sands died. I have no other
information about Geraldine or Gerard.

Please let me know if I should post the details as an answer.

Regards,

I suspect that Bobby Sand's wife and her son may simply wish to live
in peaceful anonimity. Although I am speculating , they may still have
misgivings regarding the events of their Husband/Father's death.

On a more general note , the hunger strike was one event in Northern
Ireland's troubles in which nobody came out well. The pig headedness
of the then UK Prime Minister (Margaret Thatcher) created the reasons
for the Hunger Strike by not conceding to at least some of the
reasonable demands of the Maze prisoners. Nor should Sinn Fein take
any credit either when their Leaders/ representatives did nothing to
encourage the families of the Hunger Strikers to intervene on behalf
of their family members.

Why would a question about Bobby Sands generate adverts about
