I am interested in applying to Business School at a public university
that is pretty selective. My goal is to transfer to the University
from a 2-year college. Here is my situation:
1.) I've fullfilled the requisite courses at the community college
level, and have a 4.0 GPA for all 42 units.
2.) I am 28 years old.
3.) I work full-time, as a network engineer, but have no degree.
4.) This university does not consider high school transcripts as a
requirement for transferring.
Basically, my concerns are:
1.) Will my age be considered during the admission process? Is 28
considered old to begin a BBA program? Will this be a negative?
2.) I've been working for 6 years in a career level job. Will this be
looked at as a negative or positive? Ultimately, if accepted into the
program, I'd resign and work on school full time. If a positive,
should I state all of my I.T. certifications on my resume?
3.) What kind of volunteer work do Universities look for in
applicants? What kind of Organizational Memberships do they look for?
Any other helpful advice for a 28 year old applying for a competitive
program at a selective public University would be appreciated. If you
need more information from me, or specifics, let me know. |
