Dear anoup10-ga,

According to Bette Davis (Life & Times) by Laura Moser, she attended
Newton High School in 1923 at the age of 15, and left the following
year aged 16. She later graduated from Cushing Academy.

Chronology p.152

?1923 15 Davis begins at Newton High School
1924 16 Ruthie moves her daughters to a small parochial school, where
both Bette and Bobby are miserable.? (page 9 states they were
transferred from here after one semester)
?1926 graduated from Cushing Academy?

Thank you for this answer. You have clarified a mystery: Why 'Ruth
Davis' is listed in my Newton High School directory as being in the
Class of 1925, but not listed under the alumni for that year. Thank
you.
