Question ID: 725408
I have an original idea that I want to present a seminar on. I was
told that there were companies that, if interested in your idea, would
market and handle the logistics of putting on the seminar for you.
i.e. advertising, booking the conference room, selling tickets, etc.
The caveat is that these companies take the majority of the profit,
but the lecturer need only show up to present his program. Can I get
some information regarding these companies? i.e. contact information,
how to one goes about submitting a proposal, etc.

Some conditions:
I know of The Learning Annex, and I hear they are the forerunner in
this catagory. I am not interested in them as they charge a fee to
"learn" how to submit a proposal, etc.

I do not want to have to pay upfront costs in regards to submitting a proposal.

I want to give my seminars in the Indianapolis, Indiana area ideally;
if not, then in the midwest.

Thank you for your time and help!

Hello singdancederek-ga,

My preliminary search shows that some of the seminar companies
specialize by topic/subject matter. What type of seminars will you
offer? How long? Will they be targeted at the general public,
corporate audiences, special interests or educational levels? How long
is you seminar and when is it likely to be presented? Are you likely
to offer it as 2-3 hour evening seminar? Is it and all-day seminar
offered during the work-week? Is it likely to be a weekend program?
There are lots of options. Please tell us more about what you're
looking for. Thanks.

My initial vision is as follows:

I want to do a seminar on how men approach women. There are so many
men who lack the confidence, social skills, and appeal to develop any
sort of "relationship" with women. My special spin is that, whether
you are looking for a long-term relationship or a one-night fling, the
approach to the opposite sex is still the same. This is the barebones
of what I'm wanting to communicate.

That considered, I guess this is targeting a market segement instead
of just the public-at-large. However, my preliminary research leads
me to believe that this market segement is quite substantial.

Initially, I plan the seminar to be 2-3 hours and would be held on a
weekend, most likely in a hotel conference room. However, I like the
idea of having a company that's willing to grow with me. If these
lectures are successful, as I hope them to be, I want to be able to
adapt from this standard format and offer "weekend retreats," and
various other formats to better communicate my message.

Please let me know if you require further information. Thank you in
advance for your detailed information.

I just increased the amount I will pay to have the question answered
in full and in detail. Can someone help me? :-) I'm anxious to get
started on my project but hesitate to do so if I'm not certain as to
the direction I should take. Thanks!
