Who were the parents of Bishop Agnellus Matthew Andrew (1908-1987)?

While an article about him gives his place of birth as Ireland, I
believe he was born in Ayrshire, possibly Kilmarnock, Riccarton or
Hurlford, near Glasgow, Scotland.

I've located three obituaries for Bishop Andrew, which confirm that he
was, in fact, born near Glasgow. However, none of the articles give
any details of his youth or his family.

I'll continue looking, but if there's anything else that would provide
a suitable answer for you, other than his parents' names, please let
us know.

Thanks,

I found several references that this man was born in Crosshill,
Ireland. Perhaps this surprising information is even more valuable to
you as an alternative answer.

Here is another tidbit of alternative information should you decide to
accept something less than his parents' names as an answer. My source
indicates that Andrew was born 27 May 1908 and died 19 Jan 1987.

Just as an aside, my parents used to know him very well back in
Gorton, nr Manchester in the '40s and '50s and he was always known to
them as Father Agnellus. He used to produce and direct the 'Greygriars
Players' who put on shows (G&S) and concerts in the area at that time.
He also had a sister who who taught at Layton Hill and her name was
Anna Mercedes Andrew -- she was, according to my sisters, definitely
Scottish.

Argh! Typo! Should read: "Greyfriars Players" not Greygriars.
FYI, Layton Hill was in Blackpool and has since merged with another school.
