Question ID: 725870
I have a computer in which the windows XP operating system is corrupt
and the machine no longer boots. I removed this unbootable HDD and
placed it in another machine as a slave and I can now access the
files, this drive is now ?D? drive in the new machine.

What I need is the address book and inbox email from Outlook 2002
moved from the ?D-drive? to my ?C-drive? so that I can again have
access to this data. I just installed outlook 2002 on the C-drive so
it is a ?fresh? copy.

I cannot start outlook from the old (slave) HDD, so I cannot
?back-up? the information I need in the normal way.

Is there any way to extract the address book and inbox emails and save
it to the working version of Outlook 2002 on my C-drive?

Additionally, can internet explorer's "favorites" somehow be extracted
too? This would be a big help.

Thanks in advance!

Try this and let me know if it works.

First locate where your Outlook pst files are located on your D Drive.
Since you can't open Outlook, you'll have to find them manually. Mine
for instance are at
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst

Then follow the instructions here:

Moving Outlook .pst files to a new Outlook 2002 machine

For your favorites:
Locate your favorite folder on your D Drive. They should be here:
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Favorites

Copy them to the same folder on your C Drive.

Looking forward to your clarification.

Best regards,
Rainbow
