How may programmers (or at least people who have some sort of
education in programming or computer-science) are there in the world?
Specifically, how many people in the world are literate in C++? Java?

From what I found, about 455,000. That is actualy how many jobs in
computer programming. and about 25,000 self-employed computer
programmers.
