Hi drjunes, I searched the Social Security Death Index (SSDI) for
Edward Wagner and found nothing even close to matching your
grandfather. There may be several reasons for this...
1 He was never issued a SS#.
2 He had a number, but his death was not reported to the Social
Security Administration. Although this is rare, it does happen.
3 The card was issued in another name, i.e. issued to (Edward) SAMUEL
Wagner or Edward WEGNER.
4 The year of death you gave is wrong. There are nearly 600 Edward
Wagner's listed in the SSDI but none dying in 1958.
There are many ways to find out more about your Grandfather once we
are sure we have the right man so you may want to re-examine the
information you gave for any typos and if you can give any further
info such as place of birth, place of marriage, wife's maiden name,
his parent's names, or the infantry unit he served in, I will delve
into this further.
Thanks for your question, wayga-ga
