I'm looking for a book I read 25 years ago, but have forgotten the
title of. It is a novel about a World War II era adventurer, spy and
double-agent who is also an extraordinary chef. He is also
irresistable to the opposite sex. Critical junctures in the book
involve the preparation of a gourmet dish, the recipes of which are
included in the text.

No, as I recall it is not autobiographical. I can't remember if it's
told in the first person.
