Question ID: 72686
I want to know where to find the prices that have been paid for domain
names. If there is not a free site, then I would like the names of
sites that offer this service for a fee. Finally I would like to be
able to retrieve this data on a regular basis.

Hi Joel!

Nice to see you back again!

I've done a bit of poking around, and am hard pressed to find a
comprehensive listing of how much was paid for any given domain name.
This is likely because there are so many domain name registrars about
- you can get a name from a registrar for as low as $7, or you can do
what Monster.com did to get a name that they wanted from the owner of
the name:

"TMP Worldwide (Nasdaq: TMPW) Latest News about TMP Worldwide, the
parent company of job site Monster.com, has paid US$800,000 for rights
to acquire the Jobs.com domain name and trademark from a defunct
competitor."

I may have more luck finding what you need if you could narrow things
down a bit. Are you looking to see how much was paid for any domain
names in particular? Or are you looking for how much was paid for
*every* domain name?

The latter may not be available at all.

Hi Missy!

I decided to register a few hundred domain names. I want to register 2
or 3 thousand more but I would like to see the prices that have been
paid for ALL domain names. I am not really looking to sell these
names, I have something else in mind. I say all domain names but
actually like I said previously anything above $ 5,000 would be fine.
You are a great researcher so if you can't find it i'm not sure it can
be found. I don't know how to do this but I would be glad to bump up
the price to make it worth your while. How can I bump the price and
ensure that you get a hold of it?
