<Child safety seats.

Roughly 7 million child restraints were sold in 1999 and the NHTSA
estimates that 7.5 million were sold in 2003. This breaksdown as:
infant restraints ? 1.5 million
convertibles ? 4.5 million
booster seats ? 1.5 million.

There are approximately 4 million rear facing an convertible child
restraints sold annually. Of this total about 3.3 million are
convertible seats and about 700,000 infant seats. Source: Office of

In the United States consumers spend over $300 million purchasing more
than 4 million car seats a year.
