I would like to see a list of activist hedge funds operating in the US
equity markets. Thomas Taylor of Taylor Companies estimated in late
2005 that there are about 90 worldwide today compared to 40 three
years ago. The list should include prominent individual investors who
get involved with the board/mgmt.

Here are some that I've found already:

Appaloosa Mgmt
Bulldog Investors
Cannell Capital
Carlos Slim Helu
Cevian Capital
Children's Investment Fund Mgmt
ESL Partners (Eddie Lampert)
Guy Wyser-Pratte
Harold Simmons
Icahn, CCI
Liberation Investment Group
Pardus Capital Mgmt
Perry Corp
Pershing Square Capital Mgmt
Relational Investors
Richard Blum
Schultze Asset Mgmt
Steel Partners
Third Point
Tracinda Corp (Kirk Kerkorian)
Trian Group

Hello plum209-ga,

I?ve located sixty more activist hedge funds to add to the twenty-one
you had found. Whenever possible I also listed the key manager or
founder. I also added these to the list you provided whenever I ran
across their names in looking for additional companies to add to your
list. Following the comprehensive list I?ve included the articles and
resources that I used to develop the list.

Wishing you well for your project.
