I would like to see a list of activist hedge funds operating in the US equity markets. Thomas Taylor of Taylor Companies estimated in late 2005 that there are about 90 worldwide today compared to 40 three years ago. The list should include prominent individual investors who get involved with the board/mgmt. Here are some that I've found already: Appaloosa Mgmt Bulldog Investors Cannell Capital Carlos Slim Helu Cevian Capital Children's Investment Fund Mgmt ESL Partners (Eddie Lampert) Guy Wyser-Pratte Harold Simmons Icahn, CCI Liberation Investment Group Pardus Capital Mgmt Perry Corp Pershing Square Capital Mgmt Relational Investors Richard Blum Schultze Asset Mgmt Steel Partners Third Point Tracinda Corp (Kirk Kerkorian) Trian Group Thanks!
