I am looking for information on the following:

(1) Number of supermarket stores, mass merchandisers, drug stores, club
stores, dollar stores, supercenters that exist in the U.S.

(2) How consolidated are the stores in each category? In other words,
in each of the above categories, what percentage of the stores are
owned by chains and how many chains are there in each category? Do
the rest of the stores that are not chain-owned represented by any
national or regional associations such as the independent grocers
association in the grocery category?

(3) Please list as many chains as possible in each of the above categories?
